THE JOB

Are you a quality control specialist seeking to join a team of dynamic, experienced professionals driven by a desire to make Quebec a global hub for translation? TRSB is looking for a proofreader to work on a variety of documents. Not only are you fluent in French, but you also have eagle eyes that enable you to spot all kinds of errors in the documents assigned to you.

You ensure quality control for documents translated from English into French by internal and external resources.

AS A PROOFREADER, YOUR DAILY ROUTINE AT TRSB WOULD CONSIST IN:

• Checking technical or other terms (online or using translation tools).
• Using the quality control standards defined for the project, carefully reading through the target text, with or without comparison against the source text, to make sure it’s free of spelling, grammatical or typographical errors.
• Using the quality control standards defined for the project, proofreading based on the page layout, text and image layout, factual elements, pagination, etc.
• Making sure that terminology is consistent and that the client’s instructions are followed.

This Position May Be Ideal For You If You

• Have at least one year of experience in proofreading, translation or quality control acquired in a structured environment.
• Are fluent in written French and very proficient in English.
• Are able to handle stress and always strive to meet deadlines.
• Are proficient with the following tools: MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Are comfortable with various technology tools.
• Are detail-oriented and meticulous.

WordPress Developer

THE JOB

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer responsible for both front-end and back-end development; to establish and guide website architecture for an optimal user-friendly experience.

This position requires a combination of programming skills and aesthetics. The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems such as WordPress VIP. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and implementation of WordPress themes and plugins. The individual must be a strong problem solver and a team player, who is able to work with a diverse team with varying technical knowledge.

Core Qualifications:

• Design, implement and manage website using WordPress VIP
• Collaborate with members of a creative team
• Manage front-end and back-end website development
• Create and standardizing WordPress templates, plug-ins and themes
• Maintain well-documented, reusable, and transferrable code
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues related to website performance, usability, technical challenges and client/user feedback
• Remote team collaboration acting as the technical lead in all areas related to WordPress development
• Working independently and as part of a remote team
• Stay informed of new developments in software, trends, and practices

WHAT YOU BRING

Ideally you are a self-starter who is highly organized and can deliver against tight timelines. You thrive when working on multiple projects using your analytical skills to deliver results. Your advanced written and verbal communication skills will be used to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups and deliver excellent presentations. In addition, you bring:

• Minimum of 3 years experience with WordPress or WordPress VIP
• Strong understanding of front-end and back-end website development
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Working knowledge of PHP
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and guidelines
• Familiarity with ADA & AODA guidelines
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong multi-tasking capabilities
• Post launch website maintenance as per project and contract requirements
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Experience with system architecture or leading a software team is a strong advantage
